Los Angeles – The Beatles’ newly launched digital catalog
sold more than 2 million tracks and 450,000 full albums worldwide during their
first week of availability from Apple’s iTunes Store, Billboard reported. In
the U.S., track sales totaled 1.4 million, while album sales were 119,000,
including 13,000 digital box sets. Billboard notes that first-week digital
sales for "superstar" acts in 2010 have ranged from 100,000 to
300,000 for tracks and 40,000-278,000 for albums.
