London – Richard Branson’s Virgin Media on Wednesday
announced the launch of Virgin media TV powered by TiVo (NASD: TIVO), a co-branded video
service that combines live TV, on-demand and Web programming. The service
becomes available later this month for about $310 for the 1-terabyte set-top,
plus about $41 per month for an XL TiVo package. The service also supports apps
for the BBC iPlayer service, videos from YouTube, links to Twitter and Facebook
and shopping on eBay.
