Stockholm, Sweden – Whistleblower site WikiLeaks has
re-emerged on a Swiss domain hosted by the Pirate Party, following its removal
from Amazon.com’s servers this week and a denial-of-service attack on its
domain name system (DNS) host made WikiLeaks.org temporarily unavailable. While
media reports indicated that U.S. lawmakers had pressured Amazon (NASD:  AMZN) to cease
hosting WikiLeaks, the company denied such pressure influenced its decision to
drop WikiLeaks, for violating its terms of service.

Meanwhile, EveryDNS.net gave
WikiLeaks notice it would stop connecting users to its website, saying a
denial-of-service attack against WikiLeaks was endangering its other customers’
service.

The site is now available at WikiLeaks.ch, hosted by Sweden’s Pirate
Party.

To compound its difficulties this week, U.S. Sen. Joe Lieberman
(I-Conn.) and others on Thursday introduced the SHIELD Act (Securing Human
Intelligence and Enforcing Lawful Dissemination), legislation that would make
it a crime to publish the name of a U.S. intelligence source.

  1. Although the actions/revelations of Wikileaks fall within the purview of Cyber Crime but it has exposed the ugliest faces of Realities and Diplomatic Veils. The USA feels embarrassed now.
