Tokyo – Apple (NASD: AAPL) is now the fifth most-popular mobile phone
maker in Japan, taking a 12.2% market share for July-September, Japan’s
Mainichi News reports, citing IDC Japan data. That’s up from seventh place in
the previous quarter. Sharp led Japanese mobile sales with 18.8% of the market,
followed by Panasonic (16.6%), Fujitsu (15.1%) and Kyocera (12.7%).
