Las Vegas – Korea’s LG Electronics on Wednesday introduced
Smart TV, a new app store platform for Internet-connected TV products, and a
related set-top box that brings the app store to other devices.

The Smart TV
platform enables Web video services including YouTube Netflix, Pandora, Vudu,
CinemaNow, and now Hulu Plus, Amazon Video On Demand, NHL GameCenter, NBA Game
Live and MLB.TV.

Third-party developers will also be able to develop applications for the Smart TV platform.

Users navigate the Smart TV platform on LG TV sets via a
"Magic Motion" remote control, equipped with motion sensing
technology.

The company also introduced the Smart TV Upgrader, a set-top box that
allows owners of non-LG devices to access the Smart TV app platform.
