San Francisco – Foodspotting, the developers of a Web
service and mobile application that lets users upload photos of favorite dishes
at particular restaurants, has closed a $3 million, first round of funding led
by BlueRun Ventures.
Founded in 2009, San Francisco-based Foodspotting focuses
on positive restaurant meal reviews and recommendations, and has so far logged
550,000 downloads of its iPhone application.
The company previously raised
$750,000 in July 2010, from backers including Felicis Ventures, 500 Startups,
High Line Venture Partners, Zelkoba Ventures and 2020 Ventures.
