San Francisco – Formspring, a service that lets users
"find out more about one another through sharing interesting and personal
responses," announced on Wednesday that it has raised $11.5 million in its
first round of financing, led by Redpoint Ventures.

Baseline Ventures and other
investors also participated in the round, which brings the total amount raised
by the company to date to $14 million.

San Francisco-based Formspring claims 20
million registered users of its service, which lets them share links and
personal responses to online content on sites where publishers have installed
Formspring’s "Respond" button.

Pilot partner sites included The
Huffington Post, IGN Entertainment and AskMen.

The company will use the funding
for additional product development and to build out its team.
