Palo Alto, Calif. – Tango, a provider of mobile video chat
services, has raised $8.7 million in new funding, GigaOM reported, citing a
regulatory filing.

Investors included previous backers Bill Hambrecht, Michael
Birch, Bill Tai and Daniel Scheinman, and several undisclosed newcomers.

Founded
in 2009, Palo Alto, Calif.-based Tango’s service lets owners of Android and
Apple iOS-based devices to chat with one another via 3G or Wi-Fi networks.
