Los Angeles – Digital music service Rhapsody is temporarily
extending its free trial period from seven to 60 days, through the end of
March. Viacom’s (NYSE: VIA) MTV Networks — which last year relinquished its stake in
Rhapsody, in a transaction that promised $33 million in free advertising —
will promote the extended free trial across its on-air and online properties.
Rhapsody currently counts around 750,000 paying subscribers.
