Cupertino, Calif. – Apple says that it will provide $100 to
customers who recently purchased a first-generated iPad — which the company
discounted by $100 yesterday when it announced the second-generation iPad would
launch later this month, CNET reported.

The partial refund is available only to
iPad owners who purchased their tablets within the past two weeks, making for a
cut-off date of around Feb. 16.

Apple discounted the price of its
first-generation iPad to $399 from $499 yesterday.

Affected customers who
purchased their iPads in a store must present a receipt, while online buyers
are instructed to call Apple customer service.
