New York – AOL (NYSE: AOL) is expected to announce a new round of
layoffs by Friday, days after closing its $315 million acquisition of The
Huffington Post, Forbes reported. Business Insider, however, said it expects
the latest cuts to be significantly smaller than a year ago, when AOL cut 1,400
jobs, based on the company’s projected restructuring charges at the time of the
acquisition.
Forbes reported that Friday will be when Arianna Huffington, now
the president and editor-in-chief of AOL’s new Huffington Post Media Group,
will make a "big announcement about the shape of things to come."
