Washington – LivingSocial, the social shopping firm that
operates its Daily Deals service in more than 200 markets, said on Monday it
has acquired technology consulting firm InfoEther.

Financial terms of the deal
were not disclosed.

Reston, Va.-based InfoEther specializes in the Ruby
software development language and its related web development framework, known
as Ruby on Rails.

Many online companies, including LivingSocial, use Ruby on
Rails as the basis of their technology framework.

"Together, we can
out-execute and out-innovate, which we consider to be one of our major
differentiators and the underpinning of our future success," said Aaron
Batalion, LivingSocial’s co-founder and CTO.

Established in 2001, InfoEther
currently boast more than 40 client engagements. Rich Kilmer (president and
CEO), Chad Fowler (CTO) and Glenn Vanderburg (chief scientist) are all expected
to make the move.
