New York – Private equity firm Tamares has submitted a bid
for the whole of major record label Warner Music Group (NYSE: WMG), the Financial Times
reported, citing three sources. Other suitors for the label, which is entering
the second round of an auction for either the whole company or certain assets,
are reported to include Platinum Equity, Ron Burkle’s Yucaipa, Sony (NYSE: SNE) Music and
Access Industries.

FT also reports that BMG Music Publishing Group may have
submitted a bid of around $2.8 billion for Warner Music.
