Los Angeles – Motorola (NYSE: MOT) has released a new application called
the SocialTV Companion Service, which lets service providers offer a real-time
social media component to TV programming. A companion screen on a smartphone or
tablet can offer interactive games, applications, live chat and social networking
feeds. Motorola said the application is "device-agnostic," and
compatible with any Internet-connected tablet, smartphone or computer with
HTML5 browser support.
