Beijing – Facebook has partnered with China’s top search
engine Baidu (NASD: BIDU) to create a new social networking site in China, according to Sohu.com,
which cited unnamed Baidu employees. Bloomberg reported that both Baidu and
Facebook declined to comment on the story.

Sohu.com reports that the deal was
struck after several meetings between Facebook chief Mark Zuckerberg and Baidu
CEO Robin Li.

The report indicated that the new Chinese site would not be
integrated with Facebook’s existing international site, and that no launch date has yet been determined.
