Los Angeles – IAC’s (NASD: IACI) Match.com dating service has announced
that it will begin screening members against the national sex offender
registry, after a woman filed suit against the site following an alleged
assault by a sex offender she met on the site, the Associated Press reported.
Match.com spokesman Matthew Traub told AP the decision to begin screening for
sex offenders was not a direct result of the suit, but acknowledged the
incident accelerated the company’s move.
