Los Angeles – George Hotz, the hacker sued by Sony for
distributing code that can be used to crack its PlayStation 3, has donated
$10,000 to digital civil liberties group the Electronic Frontier Foundation
(EFF), after a settlement was reached and Sony dropped its suit. The sum is the
remainder of a legal defense fund set up for Hotz, who said he won’t be hacking
Sony products anymore — a term of the settlement.
