Durham, N.C. – Digitalsmiths, a provider of video search and
discovery products, announced on Wednesday that it has raised $12.5 million in
its third round of venture capital financing, led by Technicolor.

Previous
backers .406 Ventures, Aurora Funds, Chrysalis Ventures, Capitol Broadcasting
and Cisco also participated.

North Carolina-based Digitalsmiths’ products are used by movie
and TV studios, live event producers and digital, cable and satellite operators.

The company’s technology was recently utilized by Turner Sports to allow users
to search video highlights in real-time during NCAA March Madness.
