Toronto – The BlackBerry Partners Fund, an independent
venture capital firm established to invest in mobile entrepreneurs, has
launched its fourth-annual BlackBerry Partners Fund Developer Challenge, which
this year will offer a total of $3 million in prizes.

This year’s challenge will
focus on three competitions: best Adobe Flash/AIR app; most innovative
BlackBerry WebWorks app on the PlayBook and BlackBerry 6; and most addictive
social app on the BBM social platform.

Recognition awards will also be doled
out in six categories, including best business-to-consumer application; most
useful enterprise application; and most compelling application created by
student or faculty at an academic institution.

Winners will be selected on a
regional basis across North America, Latin America, Asia Pacific and Europe,
the Middle East and Africa.
