San Francisco – Social and mobile games developer Funzio
announced on Tuesday that it has secured $20 million in first round
financing, led by IDG Ventures in the U.S. and IDG Capital Partners in China.

Playdom co-founder and Funzio chairman Rick Thompson also participated in the
investment round.

San Francisco-based Funzio launched its first game,
"Crime City," on Facebook in September, and the title now counts
750,000 daily active users and 7 million monthly players.

The company will use
the funds to triple the size of its team, and scale its business to develop and
launch titles more quickly.
