Los Angeles – A vast majority (80%) of mobile video viewing is done on Apple’s (NASD: AAPL) iPhone, iPad and iPod touch, GigaOM reported, citing a report from mobile video ad firm FreeWheel.

The report measured views from FreeWheel’s professional content producing clients, and does not include mobile viewing of subscription services like Netflix, or user-generated content.

FreeWheel found that Apple’s iPhone and iPod touch each account for 30% of mobile video viewing, while the iPad — despite having sold just 20 million units thus far — already accounts for 20%.

The remaining 20% was attributed to Android-based mobile devices.

FreeWheel notes that mobile video viewing still accounts for just 1% of all online video viewing.
