San Francisco – Twitter has acquired the team that developed search engine advertising firm AdGrok.
The deal, financial terms of which were not disclosed, apparently did not include any of AdGrok’s assets — only employees.
AdGrok said in a note on its blog that its team will now be working on Twitter’s monetization platform.
As for AdGrok, the service is no longer accepting new customers, and will shut down completely on June 30.
The San Francisco-based company was founded in March 2010, and had raised around $500,000 in seed funding.
