Berlin – txtr, a Berlin-based developer of e-reader device technology, said on Wednesday that it has received an investment from 3M New Ventures and 3M Electro & Communications Business.

Financial details were not disclosed.

Founded in 2008, txtr offers an end-to-end e-book discovery, purchase, reading and sharing platform.

The company has released mobile reading apps for iPhone and Android, and has partnerships with Koch Neff & Volckmar, bol.com and SKK.

“This strategic investment will bring innovative new-to-3M technology and business opportunities that will create high growth potential for a variety of 3M divisions,” said Stefan Gabriel, president of 3M New Ventures.

“We will be able to use txtr’s eReading cloud services to accelerate commercialization of innovative solutions for our customers.”
