Washington – LivingSocial, the daily deals service operating in more than 260 markets, said on Wednesday it has expanded its presence in Europe by acquiring French daily deals site Dealissime.com.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

With the acquisition, LivingSocial now operates in 13 countries. Launched in April 2010, Dealissime is currently live in Paris, Marseille and Lyon and will soon be launched in Lille and Bordeaux. On March 1, the company launched Dealissime enfants, which offers family-friendly deals.

“LivingSocial looks for companies that have similar values and ways of working,” said Tim O’Shaughnessy, the co-founder and CEO of LivingSocial.

“The team at Dealissime shares our drive to change the face of local commerce.”

The current team at Dealissime will remain in place. In April, LivingSocial also acquired online display advertising firm SocialMedia.com, a move the company said will help expand its member base.
