Los Gatos, Calif. — Netflix experienced a “technical issue” Sunday night that lasted three to four hours, leaving many unable to watch movies online.
With the recent increase in high profile hacker attacks, bloggers claimed the blackout might have been caused by the cyberattacks that have similarly hit Sony, Sega and other businesses.
“Good morning,” wrote Steve Swasey, Netflix’s spokesman. “It was a technical issue that we fixed.”
The major online entertainment company — who has a network of over 23 million users — has experienced technical glitches in the past 10 months, causing the service to go offline three times already.
