Washington — If you ever wonder  whether or not celebrities and politicians actually tweet the messages sent from their accounts, you probably aren’t alone. President Barack Obama’s re-election campaign announced Monday that his 8.7 million followers will start hearing from the president himself on Twitter — with tweets being signed as “-BO” – as the President heads into the 2012 Campaign.

This will be followed by his campaign staff “posting daily updates from the campaign trail, from Washington, and everywhere in between,” members of Obama’s campaign wrote via barackobama.com.

“We’re turning a page on the President’s Facebook account. From now on, Obama 2012 staff will use this account to keep you up to date not just on what the President’s doing every day, but on how millions of supporters around the country are building this campaign,” Obama’s campaign staff wrote on his Facebook page, which counts 21,739,034 likes.
