Santa Clara, Calif. — StorSimple, a Santa Clara-based developer of a cloud storage appliance for Windows and VMware infrastructures, said on Thursday it has raised $10.5 million in its third round of funding, led by Ignition Partners. All of the company’s previous backers, including Index Ventures, Mayfield Fund and Redpoint Ventures, also participated in the round.
The company, which now has raised a total of $31.5 million, said that it will use the new round accelerate growth, both in the U.S. and overseas.
“We are now funded to hit escape velocity,” said CEO Ursheet Parikh. StorSimple’s product is designed to integrate the cloud into on-premises applications.
