Radnor, Pa. — Michael Jackson’s red and black leather jacket from the iconic “Thriller” video was sold Sunday for $1.8 million during an online auction.

The jacket, worn in the 1982 award-winning music video, was sold to Milton Verret in Austin, Texas who plans to display the jacket in Dell Children’s Hospital.

Dennis Tompkins and Michael Bush, the late Jackson’s costume designers, put the jacket up for auction. Part of the proceeds will be given to Shambala Preserve, home to Jackson’s Bengal tigers.
