New York — The rumors have been confirmed: Foursquare has teamed up with Groupon to offer real-time deals in users’ apps.

First reported by Mashable, Groupon is Foursquare’s sixth and latest daily deals partner. The two will split the revenue earned for each deal, although the amount has not been disclosed.

The expansion was first trialled in Groupon’s home town of Chicago. It will now extend to Canada and the rest of the U.S. starting as soon as Sunday. Along with Groupon deals, app users also will be able to see deals offered by Foursquare’s five other partners: BuyWithMe, Zozi, Gilt City, Living Social and AT&T Interactive.

“Foursquare’s goal is to help people connect in the real world, discover new places, and save money through Specials and Deals. We’re excited that Groupon’s daily deals and real-time deals will now be included in our Deals platform,” a company spokesperson told Mashable.
