The latest in-theater music event from National CineMedia is Peter Gabriel: New Blood Live in London 3D, which screens nationwide on Sept. 6 and again on Sept. 12., presented by NCM Fathom, Omniverse Vision, Eagle Rock Entertainment and Gabriel’s own company Real World.

The timing is good for all concerned. It comes at the end of Gabriel’s U.S. tour, with his tour of Mexico and South America starting in November, the showing benefits from all of the tour publicity. It also comes before the Oct. 10 release of Gabriel’s studio recording New Blood, and the Oct. 23 release of the movie’s release on 3D and 2D Blu-ray and standard DVD through Eagle Rock Entertainment.

Peter Gabriel and the New Blood Orchestra were filmed live at London’s Hammersmith Apollo theater performing songs from the upcoming album. Most of the songs are familiar to Gabriel’s fans but are now arranged by John Metcalfe for the 46-piece New Blood Orchestra, conducted Ben Foster – no guitar, bass or rock drums. As is typical for the artist, the show is a multimedia experience as well as a musical performance.

Peter Gabriel: New Blood Live in London 3D will be broadcast nationwide through NCM’s exclusive Digital Broadcast Network, comprised of theaters owned by AMC Entertainment Inc., Cinemark Holdings Inc., Regal Entertainment Group and other regional theater circuits.
