SoundCloud announced a partnership that lets U.S. Memolane members add soundtracks to their Memolane timeline using SoundCloud. Memolane aggregates each of its user’s social media feeds, photos and other online expressions of identity into a digital scrapbook that can be shared with friends.

John Mayer, Bebel Gilberto and the Foo Fighters are some of the better-known musicians among the mostly unsigned bands and artists who post music on SoundCloud, but it also can be used to record spoken word things like a diary entry or short story.

By combining Memolane and SoundCloud, anyone can add their personal SoundCloud Waveform Player to a timeline of their life as reflected by relevant content from YouTube, Flickr, Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare, Lastfm and other platforms. The two services together enable users to interact with each element or just watch as it plays.

“Every memory has a sound and with the integration of SoundCloud, our users can easily add their voice and music to the many great moments of their life,” said Eric Lagier, co-founder and CEO of Memolane.

Atlantic Records’ artist Ed Sheeran is using the united services to promote his new single You Need Me, I Don’t Need You, so that his relevant Memolane timeline incorporates his music in with photos of his hometown, maps of his route to London, gig listings for the 300 shows he played in 1 year, video footage of early shows and more.
