UNation, a startup that describes itself as an event-driven social media platform, announced it will go live on Nov. 11 (11-11-11) and has named seven strategic partnerships.
The companies named in uNation launch statement are website infrastructure and application engineering company Ektron, unified information access company Attivio, IT integration experts E-Core, marketing communications and fundraising firm Pursuant Group, event management and strategic marketing company DeBartolo Sports and Events, rich interactive video company RIV Works, and Internet radio company Radioio.
“At its foundation, uNation is an event-driven social network, but its Affinity Bonding technology and Universal Network Platform advances it far beyond any existing social media marketing tools,” said uNation chairman and founder John Bartoletta said in a statement.
It’s still not clear from all that what the company will actually do, although it’s not shy of promises. “We refined the best features of existing social media platforms down to their most useful aspects and combined them with innovative features of our own,” George Beardsley, co-founder of uNation, said in a statement. “With the most important and functional social components together in one place, we believe that uNation will permanently change the way individuals, households and businesses connect with one another.”
Even with the lack of solid information, the company’s Twitter stream has nearly 10,000 followers and 7,365 have “liked” its Facebook page.
Bartoletta registered the domain unation.com and gives the same postal address as several investment and hedge fund companies in Tampa, Florida, operated by money manager John Bartoletta.
