Big Fish Games Inc. has named David Stephenson as chief financial officer, the company announced today. Stephenson previously was vice president for Amazon’s $15 billion North American retail division. He replaces Michael Vernon, who left for daily deals company Zulily in May.

Stephenson will be responsible for worldwide strategic and business planning and finance operations. “His demonstrated track record of leading operational finance teams focused on large and complex consumer markets aligns incredibly well with our business and our plans for extending our operations, brand and product offerings across multiple platforms and geographies,” said Jeremy Lewis, Big Fish chief executive officer and president.

Stephenson’s earlier positions included vice president of finance for the Merchant Services division and finance director for Amazon Web Services. Prior to Amazon, he spent nine years with Procter & Gamble, where he focused on global strategic planning and new business development within multiple P&G business lines.
