In-flight broadband entertainment platform Row 44 has added movies and TV shows from Disney, Universal, Twentieth Century Fox and Warner Bros. to the library of content passengers can watch on their own Wi-Fi devices.
Illustrating the wide range of genres now available, among the new additions are episodes of Friends, Glee, The Office, Modern Family and The Three Stooges, and movies such as Avatar, Harry Potter, Inception, Toy Story (pictured) and classics directed by Alfred Hitchcock.
Just a few days ago, Row 44 announced that passengers will be able to watch, on their own Wi-Fi enabled devices: live news and political talk on Fox News Channel, MSNBC and BBC World News; live business news from CNBC, Fox Business Network and Bloomberg Television; and sports on Versus, which will be re-branded NBC Sports Network on January 2.
Howard Lefkowitz, Row 44’s chief commercial officer, said the experience was “like sitting me in my living room while I fly.” He expects to announce additional content in the near future as well. To date, Row 44’s flying Wi-Fi hotspot is available on Southwest Airlines and Norwegian Air Shuttle.
“Passengers want flight time to pass quickly – and that means a wide selection of entertainment opportunities,” Lefkowitz said. “Adding live streaming IPTV television and now an extensive library of on-demand movies and TV shows to our world-leading broadband Wi-Fi connectivity system creates an unmatched in-flight entertainment offering – an outstanding experience for passengers and maximum revenue-generating potential for airlines.”
