Comedy Central has partnered with Flipboard to include The Colbert Report in the digital/social magazine’s new video section. This is the first Viacom Media Network property to have video included on Flipboard, although the company has not disclosed if the content deal extends beyond the Emmy and Peabody Award-winning series.

Flipboard’s new Colbert Nation section combines video clips of recent episodes along with tweets from the show and from Colbert’s own Twitter account into a magazine-like experience optimized for tablets, according to Erik Flannigan, executive vice president digital media, Viacom Media Networks Entertainment Group. It will be advertising supported, initially by Bud Light and Paramount Pictures, and sharable with others.

“Flipboard is one of the most useful and innovative applications created to date for the iPad,” Flannigan said.  “We think fans of the show will find the Flipboard edition of Colbert Nation highly browsable and addictive.”

Available in 99 million homes nationwide, Comedy Central is part of Viacom Inc.
