Continuing its international expansion, social and mobile game developer and publisher 6waves Lolapps announced its acquisition Smartron5. The deal adds Beijing to the company’s locations in Hong Kong, Tokyo, London and San Francisco.
Smartron5’s chief operating office Gage Galinger will become 6waves Lolapps’ vice president of Content Development and will head up operations for the company in China.
Social game developer Smartron5 is backed by private equity group Origo Partners. Nexon, the Korean free-to-play multiplayer game company best known for the Ravenworld franchise (pictured), recently made an investment in 6waves Lolapps and took a seat on the company’s board of directors.
