Silver Spring, Md. – Discovery Communications, the Silver Spring-based media giant behind such cable TV staples as the Discovery Channel, TLC and Animal Planet, has named Andrew Warren as its new senior executive vice president and chief financial officer.
Warren, the former chief financial officer of Liz Claiborne and NBC Universal Television Group, will succeed Brad Singer, who previously announced that he is leaving the company at the end of March.
Discovery also announced a series of executive shifts – the result of its decision to eliminate the role of chief operating officer at the end of last year. David Leavy has been promoted to the position of chief communications officer and senior executive vice president of corporate marketing and affairs; Bruce Campbell, currently chief development officer and general counsel, will add responsibilities for business affairs and global production management; JB Perrette, chief digital officer, adds oversight of Discovery’s Enterprise Operational Services department; and Luis Silberwasser, executive vice president and chief content officer for Discovery Networks International (DNI), adds U.S. network Velocity to his responsibilities.
