Investigation Discovery network has created IDAddicts.com, an online destination for die-hard fans of its true-crime programs. The social site went live during the network’s current “Red Hot Saturdays” programming block.

The site brings together live streams from Facebook and Twitter, personalized user profiles with the ability to subscribe to other user’s updates, programming information, advance looks at upcoming shows and events, and competitions and other opportunities exclusively available to the Addicts.

Initially, IDAddicts is showcasing Scorned: Love Kills and Who The (Bleep) Did I Marry? along with network stalwarts like On the Case with Paula Zahn and Deadly Women.

“By uniting fans under an official moniker and community base, IDAddicts.com plants a flag in our pledge to reward viewers for investing their time and curiosity in ID’s programming,” said Henry Schleiff, president and general manager of Investigation Discovery. “We are in ripe position to empower our flourishing social fan base with even more opportunities to chat, debate, and share theories about the true-crime stories they see on ID.”

Investigation Discovery, which reaches nearly 79 million U.S. households, is part of Discovery Communications.
