Anyone looking for a Super Bowl party is invited to join two NFL stars on PlayUp, the free social network app for sports fans. St. Louis Rams running back Steven Jackson and Buffalo Bills wide receiver Steve Johnson will be commenting and interacting with football fans from all over the world during Sunday’s game.

Each of them will be hosting a separate public room – they’re using the same names they use on Twitter, so Jackson is sj39 and Johnson is StevieJohnson13 – and also will be dropping in on other rooms where football is the topic of the day.

Both players already are active on other social media. Jackson has more than 138,000 Twitter followers and almost 48,000 Facebook fans, while Johnson has more than 78,800 Twitter followers and 17,400 Facebook fans.

“The fans have been great to me, so being able to engage with them online for the Super Bowl will be pretty cool,” Jackson said. “It should be a great game, and PlayUp’s app will give us a chance to have a different experience during the game, one where we can watch, react and go back and forth on what’s going on like never before.”

Johnson said he was looking forward to a great game, and to being able “to hang out and bond with my fans in the PlayUp app in real time” over their shared passion for football. He added, “Hopefully next year football fans will be using PlayUp to praise my team while we’re on our way to a Super Bowl victory!”

PlayUp launched in October, and enables sports fans to follow their choice of more than 25,000 live games while simultaneously discussing the action with fellow fans on their mobile devices or via the web version. Dennis Lee, PlayUp USA CEO, added that the app includes real-time scoring and stats, along with the option to create private rooms to discuss the action with friends or join public rooms to interact with fans from around the world.
