Streaming radio service Slacker has added Steve Wadsworth as an independent member of its board of directors. Wadsworth, who concurrently is a digital advisor to FishBowl Worldwide Media, previously served as president of Disney Interactive Media.

He led the development of Disney’s Internet and digital media products and services, including ecommerce, online video, mobile, interactive games and virtual worlds, for 11 years. Wadsworth joined the Walt Disney Co. in 1994 and resigned in 2010.

“Interaction is a key component to the Slacker listening experience,” Wadsworth said. “Slacker is taking a unique approach to radio by combining excellent content discovery with personalization on a growing collection of available platforms. The opportunity to join Slacker’s board of directors is an honor.”

Wadsworth joins Slacker just as the radio service unveiled a new station category called Valentine’s Day, although the two events couldn’t be more unrelated.

The Valentine’s Day category has something for a range of romantic atmospheres, including “Country Love,” “Metropolitan Moods” and “Broken Heart.”

Slacker features over 150 expert-programmed and interactive music stations, along with customizable stations that include ESPN Radio, ABC News, comedy, custom artist-hosted showcase stations and leading music festival stations. Slacker Premium Radio also includes on-demand access, unlimited song skips and other enhancements.
