San Francisco – Yelp, the San Francisco-based operator of a popular local business reviews site, has named former White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs to its board of directors.

Gibbs is a senior campaign advisor to President Barack Obama, and previously served as the 28th White House Press Secretary for two years ending in Feb. 2011.

The news comes three months after Yelp raised $107 million in its initial public offering (IPO).
