Crowdfunding platform Kickstarter has responded to popular demand by launching Kickstarter Stats, a page of data about what’s going on with its hundreds of fundraising campaigns.
The page will be updated daily, and the statistics it shows make for interesting reading. While there is lots of deserved buzz about the seven projects that have raised more than $1 million, for example, it’s worth noticing that over 7,000 projects never received even a single pledge.
Overall, the numbers show that 63 percent of Kickstarter projects successfully reached their financial goal. More than $250 million has been pledged to Kickstarter projects, and most of that ($215 million) went to successful campaigns.
