Music Ally reports: “Mobile title Beatstar has been one of the music-gaming success stories of the past decade, racking up nearly 100m downloads of its app while closing in on $200m of revenue. It was launched in 2021 by startup Space Ape Games, which is in the process of being fully acquired by mobile gaming giant Supercell. Now Space Ape founders Olly Barnes and Simon Hade are spinning out a new company called NextBeat, which will be the new home for Beatstar and its Countrystar sister game.”
