San Francisco – TuneUp, the developer of a plug-in for
iTunes that organizes users’ music libraries, announced on Thursday that it has
added $2 million to its third round of venture capital financing, which has
closed at $6.3 million.

Previous backer IDG Ventures provided the additional
funding, which the company will use to develop new products, hire additional
staff, and increase marketing efforts.

Launched in 2008, San Francisco-based
TuneUp said it now counts over 3 million registered users of its plug-in, which
to date has "cleaned," or automatically appended correct metadata, to
more than 1.5 billion mislabeled tracks.
