San Mateo, Calif. – Digital Chocolate, a San Mateo-based developer of social games that earlier this year raised $12 million in its fourth round of funding, said it will acquire Bothell, Wash.-based Sandlot Games, a developer and publisher of casual games such as Cake Mania, Super Granny, Tradewinds and Westward. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“Sandlot has built a great reputation in casual games,” said Trip Hawkins, the founder and CEO of Digital Chocolate. “We love their development teams and we can now expand further in Seattle and Eastern Europe.”
Digital Chocolate is one of the fastest-growing publishers of Facebook social games with virtual goods, and is best known for titles such as Millionaire City, Zombie Lane, Army Attack, Rollercoaster Rush and Tower Bloxx.
