Los Angeles – Mobile network operator Verizon Wireless (NYSE: VZ) plans to launch
its own app store, V CAST Apps, in a bid to generate revenue from the
burgeoning market, Engadget reported. At launch, the store is expected to
support only the BlackBerry Storm, with other RIM handsets and devices from
other makers to follow eventually. The company will provide developers with 70%
of the revenues from apps they sell.
