San Bruno,
Calif.
– Google’s (NASD:  GOOG) YouTube on Wednesday
plans to introduce what the company is calling one of the "biggest
redesigns in YouTube history." Among other things, the changes to video
watch pages will see channel banners and subscribe buttons moved around, and
the addition of a new "See more videos" pane.

Other changes include a
revamping of the site’s commenting system.

The company said the changes are
being made after a nine-month study into user engagement, adding that testing
has shown its design changes increased the amount of time people spent on the
site by 6%.
