Columbia,
Mo.
– Newsy, a unit of Media
Convergence Group that offers a multi-source video news service, announced on Wednesday
that it has raised $2 million in its second found of funding, from angel
investors.

Founded in 2008, Columba, Mo.-based
Newsy said its service is "a news analyzer, not a news aggregator,"
which provides short video clips that it says helps users "understand the
differences in coverage from different media outlets as well as discover new
sources they would not have found on their own."

The Newsy service is available
for Apple’s iPhone and iPad, Android-based smartphones and Intel Atom-powered
netbooks.

The company will use the funds to grow its news operations and build
revenue, distribution and marketing partnerships.
