Espoo, Finland – Nokia (NYSE:  NOK) on Friday filed a patent
infringement lawsuit against Apple (NASD:  AAPL) in federal court in Wisconsin, alleging the iPhone and iPad 3G
infringe on five of Nokia’s patents. The lawsuit is the latest in an ongoing
patent dispute between the two companies — following Nokia’s initial suit
against Apple last year, complaints at the U.S. International Trade Commission,
and a countersuit from Apple.

Nokia said that in its latest claims, "the
patents in question relate to technologies for enhanced speech and data
transmission, using positioning data in applications and innovations in antenna
configurations that improve performance and save space, allowing smaller and
more compact devices."
