– Blip.tv, a Web TV network and provider of online video distribution,
announced on Wednesday that it has raised $10.1 million in a third round of
venture capital financing, led by Canaan Partners and previous backer Bain
Capital Ventures.

Founded in 2005, New York-based Blip.tv currently serves more
than 50,000 original online programs, and counts 85 million video views per
month.

The company will use the new funds to distribute additional independent
Web shows, add international sales staff, and for further product development.

Blip.tv has now raised a total of $18.2 million to date.
